Rise of Mana to Discontinue Free-to-Play Services in March, Square Enix Will Search Other Ways to Release Title

Rise of Mana, the free-to-play installment in the Mana series, will cease services in March of this year. The announcement was made on Square Enix’s official site for the title.

The company stated that the shutdown of the iOS and PS Vita title was due to a lack of balance between development and capital during its run. They also admitted that they feel they would not be able to deliver quality content to players in the future.

However, Square Enix did state that it will be investigating other avenues to release game on. Since it will not be coming back in free-to-play form, there’s a good chance it will be as a buy-to-play title instead.
