" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">1.0 update drops next month on August 11 for Steam players. Console players shouldn't have to wait too much longer, but there are still a few kinks to work out on that end.

Risk of Rain 2 is one of the better co-op roguelikes on the market. It takes that classic Risk of Rain gameplay and brings it into the third dimension. With tons of items to acquire, crazy enemies to fight, and several characters to master, every run will feel completely unique. And, since you can hop online with up to three of your pals, the good times are sure to roll.

The 1.0 update is more than just a semi-finalized version of the game. It also adds several new toys to play with. There's a new character coming into the mix, along with several items and pieces of equipment. Importantly, it also sees the team at Hoppo Games implementing a final boss for players to test themselves against. So, even if you've been playing Risk of Rain 2 since it's early access launch, there are plenty of reasons to hop back in.

Risk of Rain 2 launches out of early access on August 11 for PC. Hoppo says to expect a similar release cadence to their other content drops on consoles. Judging by the Artifacts Update, that puts the 1.0 console release at around November. So, expect to play the game in its entirety right around Thanksgiving on Nintendo Switch, PS4, and Xbox One.
