Risk of Rain 2 is an unquestionable hit. The 3D rogue-like from Hopoo Games released last month to solid sales and great reviews. But the party doesn’t stop here. Hopoo announced recently that they’ll be dropping one last content update before moving on to bigger paid expansions. That’s not all though. The team has quite a few plans for expanding the game and player base.

That’s right Stadia fans, Risk of Rain 2 is coming to your console soon. It will also include a new bonus map called Sundered Grove. This serves as an alternate to the fourth-stage map and was created by Hopoo’s latest partner Ghostpunch. Sundered Grove will come to other platforms at a later date.

Hopoo also wants to improve tools for modders in Risk of Rain 2. They don’t have an exact plan to share with players just yet, but it’s actively being worked on. That’s an important step that’s going to make tons in the community very happy.

All of that said, the expansion packs are the big news here. It’s also a decision that makes a ton of sense. Development isn’t free or easy, so providing a way for players to support post-launch work is smart. Plus, Hopoo has plans to hire a few more developers. This should help pay for that, while also getting new content to players.

Risk of Rain 2 is available now on PC. It’s also on Nintendo Switch, PS4, and Xbox One via early access. The 1.0 update should be coming to consoles soon. Potentially in time with that Stadia release.
