Void Fiend is a new Risk of Rain 2 playable character, and in order to unlock it, you need to escape the Planetarium or reach wave 50 in Simulacrum. Here, we will talk about the former!
Survivors of the Void is the first paid expansion for Risk or Rain 2 since its launch. The new DLC delivers two playable characters as well as some new items and weapons that you would love to try out.

While Railgunner, one of the new characters, is unlocked by simply playing the new DLC, the next character will only be available if you manage to complete one of two required quests.
You can either start playing Simulacrum and try to reach wave 50 to unlock Void Fiend, which is almost everyone's choice, or you can decide to escape the Planetarium!
How to Escape the Planetarium in Risk of Rain 2
In order to meet the boss in Planetarium, you will first need to obtain a purple orb that leads you to the boss area. That purple orb is a random drop that can be obtained in any stage from Void Fields.
In order to enter Void Fields, you should use Null Portal, located in a secret cave in the shaft beneath the Blue Portal in Bazaar.
So, once you are in the Void Fields, you can get a purple orb at any stage. The purple orb will spawn a Void Portal, leading you to find against a spider-like Void boss in three stages. After beating the boss in each stage, it will teleport itself through a portal to the next realm, and you should follow it through the portals. (Special thanks to Vale-X!)
Once you defeat the boss at the final stage, the quest is completed!
