The darling indie hit Risk of Rain has received a major new update today, adding in two new classes, ten new items and much more.
Having not updated their blog in nearly three months, Hopoo Games updated their Kickstarter success with its first major updated since December of last year. The main focus of the update is the transition to a new engine, going from GameMaker 8 to GameMaker Studio. The change of engines should make performance noticeably smoother and create less compatibility issues, some of which were previously causing sound bugs. By making the switch, it should also open up the possibility of Mac and Linux support coming the near future.
In addition to the new classes, items and change of engine, there has been several other bug fixes and gameplay tweaks. You can view the full list of changes on the Risk of Rain website.
