Genesis 7, a Super Smash Bros. tournament known for its immense draw and legendary sets, had one more trick up its sleeve this year. Rivals of Aether, Smash-like title for PC, revealed it would be heading to Switch this Summer at the tournament. The reveal was aired on-screen after the game's own tournament had ended, capping off a big moment for the game's growing competitive scene.

Revealed in a new trailer, the official title of this release is Rivals of Aether - Definitive Edition. Included is all the DLC currently released for the game, meaning you'll be able to smack Ori around as Shovel Knight.

Rivals of Aether also recently added steam workshop support, producing exactly what you'd expect. Players immediately made Chrono of Chrono Trigger, Jotaro of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure and Melee's Fox. Then of course came the memes. Peeing Mario. Ronald McDonald. 100% Accurate Fox is a cartoonishly overpowered version of the character. The list goes on. It should be noted that this custom content won't be available on Switch.

Suffice to say, there's a lot going on in Rivals of Aether right now. You can check out the trailer down below if you'd like, or check out the game's Steam page here.
