Natsume to Publish River City: Rival Showdown in the West as 3DS Exclusive

Natsume announced they will be bring the retro-style RPG beat ’em up River City: Rival Showdown to 3DS in North America and Europe.

Originally released in October 2016 in Japan, the game has players assume the role of Kunio, who has three days to “unravel mysteries like why Ricki’s girlfriend was kidnapped (again)”.

Many of the River City titles have received western releases, including River City: Tokyo Rumble for the 3DS, a localization of Nekketsu Kōha Kunio-Kun SP: Rantō KyōsōkyokuRiver City: Rival Showdown is based off the Kunio-kun series, which was acquired by Arc System Works from Million Co. Since the acquisition, Arc System Works has developed several titles in the River City series.

Additionally, River City: Rival Showdown will be playable at this year’s E3 convention.
