Though the latest State of Play broadcast was headlined by big ticket items such as the latest trailer for Final Fantasy VII Remake and the release date for MediEvil's upcoming remake, the video also highlighted a number of interesting indies and smaller games heading to PS4 later this year. Notably, that included the upcoming Riverbond from Cococumber, which shared plenty of new footage and other surprises in a new trailer.

During the latest PlayStation State of Play broadcast, a new gameplay trailer was shown for the upcoming Riverbond, which merges a colorful voxel art style with a "slash-and-shoot" dungeon crawler, where up to four players can team up to take down monsters across numerous environments. The trailer highlighted that the visual style will obviously be a big draw for Riverbond, but that's also combined with the game's old-school hack-and-slash-style combat.

In addition to the new gameplay shown, the trailer also highlighted a number of character skins that players will be able to use that are crossovers from a variety of indie games. Eight skins were shown in the trailer from games such as BastionPsychonautsShovel KnightEnter the Gungeon, Guacamelee!Knights & BikesPlanet of the Eyes, and Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime, giving players of those hit indie games a nice incentive to check out Riverbond.

Riverbond will release for PS4 and PC this summer. For a closer look at the game, you can check out the new trailer shown during the latest PlayStation State of Play below:
