While you're probably aware of Roblox, the free-to-play platform, and how it's mostly used by kids, you'd probably be surprised to learn that there are apparently over 1000 accounts that have been hacked by what appears to be Donald Trump supporters. Why? With the US elections coming up, the hacked accounts have had outfits changed and have messages are telling the users to ask their parents to vote for Trump.

Roblox is usually a haven of creativity for young gamers, allowing kids to build and explore user-created worlds. But as Bleeping Computer reports, a hacking campaign appears to be targeting accounts in light of the upcoming election due to take place in November.

Accounts that have been hacked seem to be seeing their outfits changed to clothes that can be grabbed for free in-game. These clothes resemble the stereotypical image of Trump supporters such as a red cap and a T-shirt with the American flag and an eagle on it. The cap does read "Running of the Bulls" but the way the text is presented bears similarities to the "Make America Great Again" slogan if you were to glance at it.

In addition to the clothing, the profiles have a new About message which reads, "Ask your parents to vote for Trump this year! #MAGA2020" MAGA, as you're probably aware is part of the "Make America Great Again" slogan.

Bleeping Computer states that when it spotted the hacking campaign on Saturday, 27 June, there were around 500 accounts that had been hacked. At the time of writing this, this Google search that indexes the profiles shows 1,390 results.

Roblox earlier this week revealed that in May 2020 it saw the game's biggest ever month in terms of revenue, bringing in $100 million. Apparently players have spent more than $1.5bn on mobile. Additionally, Donald Trump started up his own Twitch channel back in 2019, and earlier this week, his channel was temporarily suspended for "hateful conduct".

DualShockers has reached out to Roblox for comment.
