GameInformer has sat down with a certain executive that will make any musical gamer happy…or sad. I believe it’s a glass half-empty, half-full scenario. Chris Rigopulos, Harmonix executive, has confirmed that Rock Band 4 will not make an appearance this year. Before we go on was there even a rumor suggesting that the fourth Rock Band title will be released in 2011? After all there was a two year gap between the second and third game with the latter releasing in 2010. Regardless, Mr. Rigopulos informs us that there are no immediate plans for another Rock Band sequel.
“Rock Band 3 is a big game with lots of available music content and lots of new goals and challenges. We want to give our fans the time to explore that fully.”
So Harmonix isn’t quite done with Rock Band 3. In fact, more DLC will be making an appearance soon. The Harmonix exec went on to reassure fans of the music game that the developer is still creating new ideas and concepts to prolong the Rock Band title. These ideas will apparently feature the Foo Fighters, Ozzy Osbourne, and the always confusing Lady Gaga later this month. But hey…it’s not like Rock Band has to constantly deliver games on a daily basis with Guitar Hero’s demise. Too soon?
