Rocket League Receives New Details During Today’s Nintendo Direct

On today's Nintendo Direct, the unique car-based sports game, Rocket League, got some new details including local wireless multiplayer.

During today’s Nintendo Direct, a slew of details about the Nintendo Switch version of the vehicle-based sports game, Rocket League, was announced including some exclusives for the popular game company’s new console.

Only for the Nintendo Switch version, Nintendo themed battle cars based on Mario, Luigi and Samus will be available for players to use. Each vehicle will have their own unique boosts. If you really want to show your love for the popular video game company, Mario and Luigi hat toppers are available to put on top of your car. All of these Nintendo exclusive items must be unlocked in order to use them.

While all the modes from the original game will be available, the new local wireless multiplayer will also make its way to the Switch version.

Psyonix’s Rocket League originally released on PlayStation 4 and PC in 2015. Due to its incredible popularity, it has been brought to more platforms including Xbox One, and now Nintendo’s new home console.

Today, new features for Rocket League was announced alongside a new trailer. The upcoming Autumn Update will include a party system, tournament system, standardized arenas, and more will be making its way to the popular vehicle-based sports game.

Rocket League will be available for Nintendo Switch this Holiday season.
