Rocket League is Heading to Nintendo Switch, Coming Holiday 2017
In a stellar way to begin the Nintendo Spotlight E3 2017, Nintendo revealed in the opening teaser that Rocket League would be coming to Nintendo Switch. In the intro reel, you see actors holding a Switch with the notorious rocket-racing cars.
Couched between gameplay for Splatoon 2 and ARMS, Rocket League made an entirely surprise reveal. According to the press release, players will be able to play Rocket League in all of the variety of Nintendo Switch modes: TV, Tabletop and Handheld. Online and local multiplayer will support one to eight players.
Rumors of a Nintendo Switch version of the massively popular Rocket League have been in play since Late-March, when developer Psyonix stated they were evaluating the possibility of putting the game on Nintendo Switch.
Rocket League on Nintendo Switch boasts a few different things, including exclusive customization options, exclusive battle-cars, cross-network play (only with Xbox One and PC). These options will include Mario and Luigi hat toppers, with more to be announced later. Finally, the press release says the Nintendo Switch version “wil include the same features, upgrades and content” from the other versions — perhaps offering that this may be a definitive version of the game.
Last but not least, it was confirmed the game would be coming Holiday 2017. That said, take a look at the sizzle reel and the official reveal trailer below:
