Back in October it was announced that an updated version of Rocket League would be hitting retail stores this month, but at the time, only the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the game would be getting this treatment. That has all changed, as developer Psyonix has announced that the Switch version of the game will also be getting a retail release not dissimilar to its other counterparts.

First and foremost, the release is set to include eight pieces of DLC, including some brand new content based on the DC Comics character The Flash. You can check out the full list of DLC content below:

  • Supersonic Fury DLC Pack

  • Revenge of the Battle-Cars DLC Pack

  • Chaos Run DLC Pack

  • Aftershock DLC Car

  • Marauder DLC Car

  • Esper DLC Car

  • Masamune DLC Car

  • Customization Items inspired by DC Comics’ The Flash

  • Limited Art Print by Psyonix Concept Artist, Jay Zhang

The Collector's Edition, as it's aptly named, will be released on January 16, 2017, in North America, with releases in other countries over the subsequent days. The game is set to cost players $39.99, which is $10 more than the game's PlayStation 4 and Xbox One physical release. Psyonix cites expensive cartridge manufacturing as the reason for the increase in price.

An image of the game's box art was also released. You can check out an image of it at the end of the article.

Rocket League was originally released on Nintendo Switch just one month ago, on November 14, 2017. The game is also available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC. Check out the Nintendo Switch version's boxart below:
