Rocket League Update 1.28 Has Removed the “No Flip” Speed Exploit

Yesterday,  update 1.28 hit Rocket League on the PS4, Xbox One and PC, and notably removed the “No Flip” speed exploit, which gave PC players an unfair advantage over console players who met their PC brothers and sisters via cross-play.

Earlier this month, Design Director Corey Davis revealed that Psyonix was working on removing the exploit, explaining, “No Flip is macroable & isn’t taught to the player anywhere in game. Intentionally obtuse execution != raising the skill ceiling.”

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a trade window issue causing painted item attributes to be incorrect.

  • Fixed an issue causing increased boost and air turn speed before the first kickoff in some cases: This issue was addressed in an earlier server-side update, and this client update will ensure its effectiveness

  • Faulty “Dodge Forward” binding that caused the “No Flip” speed exploit has been removed

In other recent and related news, Psyonix revealed new tiers are coming in Season 4, which is set to debut in April. Notably, the game also recently surpassed 25 million players.
