Rockstar Games and Video Games Deluxe Are Working on a AAA Open-World VR Game
The developer behind L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files officially revealed that they are collaborating with Rockstar Games on another VR title.
Video Games Deluxe, the Australian team behind L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files, officially announced that they will be teaming up with Rockstar Games once again to work on a brand new triple-A open-world VR title. More details are yet to be revealed, but it’s quite interesting that Rockstar Games is investing in VR platforms once more, while working on other major projects.
L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files is the one and only VR title from Rockstar Games so far. It was launched back in 2017 along with the remastered version of the original game which hit PS4 and Xbox One. Video Games Deluxe has been working with Rockstar Games for nearly seven years, and their collaboration is going to be extended thanks to the new VR project. The Australian studio is currently hiring for the new title, which is claimed to be a “ground-breaking project.”
After launching Red Dead Redemption 2 in 2018, Rockstar has been tight-lipped about its upcoming projects. According to a recent report by Jason Schreier, the team is now working on Grand Theft Auto 6, but the game is still in the early stages of development.
Last month, during Sony’s first online event for PS5, Rockstar Games officially confirmed that Grand Theft Auto V will be hitting Xbox Series X and PS5 as well, turning into one of the very few titles in the history that launches on three generations of consoles.
Currently, lots of rumors are circulating around Rockstar’s next project. Some believe that the studio is trying to deliver multiple titles in the upcoming years as the CEO of Take-Two Interactive previously revealed that they will try to shorten the gap between triple-A titles coming from Rockstar Games.
If the rumors turn out to be true, the new VR project from Video Games Deluxe could be in our hands earlier than the next entry of the Grand Theft Auto series.
