Today is a day worth celebrating for longtime fans of Rockstar Games as the release of Grand Theft Auto V for PS4 and Xbox One is upon us, though recent post by Rockstar do shows the studio is working to fix some last-minute bugs, specifically with the transfer of data between the last-gen and current-gen versions of GTAV.
In a post on Rockstar Games’ support page, the developer is currently looking into issues with players that have not played Grand Theft Auto Online since the game’s launch in 2013, resulting in errors with being able to transfer over data from the last-gen versions of the game to the newly-released PS4 and Xbox One versions.
Players are reporting messages that attempting to transfer results in a message that “no previous Grand Theft Auto Online data is associated with your Social Club account.” Though no solution is available at this moment, Rockstar Games assured in its support post that the studio is working to correct this instance, with the studio detailing:
“We are urgently looking into an issue preventing character transfer and GTA Onlinelogin on accounts that haven’t played GTA Online since 2013,” a statement from the company reads.
“If you would like to receive an automatic email notification as soon as there is more information, please log into the Support Site and click Subscribe at the top of this page. Apologies for any inconvenience caused, and thanks for your patience.”
Grand Theft Auto V is available now on PS4, Xbox One, PS3, and Xbox 360 – the PC version of the title will release on January 27th, 2015.
