The recently-released skating third-person shooter Rollerdrome is advertised as offering a 1-hour trial for PlayStation Plus premium subscribers, though in actuality the trial only lasts 35 minutes.

One of the various perks given to PS Plus premium subscribers is a selection of timed full game trials for a small catalog of titles; this allows players to try these games out without first having to commit to a purchase. The time given varies between each game, but it's generally dependent on genre, for example, a large open-world title like Cyberpunk 2077 offers a 5-hour trial. Rollerdrome, the recently released skating third-person shooter, is stated to offer a 1-hour trial. In fact, its store page still promotes this as of the writing of this article.

However, many PS Plus Premium subscribers are reporting a different experience. As seen below, podcaster Dustin Furman was one of the first users to relay the issue, originally thinking the time it took him to download the trial had been discounted from his time limit. Other users replied to him, stating they had experienced the same issue, also only having exactly 35 minutes left in their trial before they'd even booted up the game.

The exact cause as to why this is happening is unknown. At this point, it's even difficult to confirm whether this is the time being given to every single PS Plus premium member that downloads the Rollerdrome trial. Some speculate it's simply a bug that will be fixed in due time, while others are being less generous with their interpretations.

PlayStation Plus premium is the highest of the three tiers available within the service following a recent overhaul to the platform's subscription model. Premium offers the largest selection of full games playable at no additional cost, an exclusive selection of classic titles from older PlayStation consoles, as well as the aforementioned game trials.

Rollerdrome was released on August 16, 2022. It is available on PC and is a console exclusive on both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
