Nippon Ichi Software America’s newest puzzle platformer A Rose in the Twilight has officially launched on Steam and PlayStation Vita in North America and in Europe. Released today was a new trailer for the game, which details some of the core elements at play in A Rose in the Twilight.

A Rose in the Twilight tells the story of a young girl trapped in a forgotten castle and cursed with a thorned rose growing out of her back. When she comes upon a slumbering giant, the two decide to make the most of each other’s strengths in order to escape their captivity.

Each stage in A Rose in the Twilight requires the player to utilize the girl’s ability to make elements in the environment stuck or unstuck in time, as well as the giant’s near-indestructibility and ability to adjust the environment to his will. As you progress through each level, sometimes by taking grim action, the dark origins of the giant, the girl, and her curse are slowly revealed.

For those picking this title up in Europe, keep in mind that its physical version will only be made available via a limited edition on the NISA Europe Online Store.

Recently, A Rose in the Twilight received a couple of free PlayStation Vita and PlayStation 4 themes. Additionally, DualShockers reviewed A Rose in the Twilight and awarded it a score of 8.5 out of 10.
