Today, Poland-based developer Reikon Games and Devolver Digital's cyberpunk action shooter, RUINER, releases onto PS4, Xbox One, PC, Mac, and Linux (a Nintendo Switch is also being considered). And to celebrate, the pair have dished out an official launch trailer showcasing the game's brutal, intense, and violent action.

RUINER is an action shooter that is set in the year 2091, in the cyber metropolis Rengkok. In it, you play as a wired sociopath who violently lashes out against a corrupt system to rescue his kidnapped brother and uncover the truth.

Under the guidance of a mysterious, secretive hacker friend, and combining preternatural reflexes, augmented tools, and an arsenal of weapons, you will tear down and dismantle the corporate titans of virtuality dealers at HEAVEN.

While not to say the game's story is second-seat, RUINER's key focus is its gameplay loop, which consists of "lightening fast" combat that also requires a delicate balance of elegant strikes alongside overwhelming brute force. Whether you're slowing down time for a more tactical slaughtering, or going in hot, Rambo-style, RUINER is about hurdling through enemies in a storm of violence and death (more information on the game's combat can be found here).

RUINER, which is roughly six to eight hours long, is the debut project for Reikon Games, a Warsaw-located studio that was founded in 2014 by industry veterans whose previous work The Witcher, Dying Light, Shadow Warrior, and This War of Mine.

RUINER is available for $19.99 USD. Below, you can find the aforementioned trailer. Additionally, if you have't already, be sure to peep our interview with the game's narrative director, where we talk about its documented brutal difficulty, frame-rate, its setting, and much more.
