Rumor: Arkham City Will Have 12-Player Free Roam Multiplayer

Looks like we have some rumors coming for the sequel to Rocksteady’s insanely successful Batman: Arkham is reporting that an insider has stated that Rocksteady was impressed with Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption, so they’re looking to emulate the same kind of experience, offering 12-player free roam multiplayer in Arkham City.

There’ll only be one Batman and Joker, but according to the insider, you’ll be able to pick one of twelve other characters to play as.  Apparently every building will be completely explorable, with plenty of “citizens to save or harrass.”

Although I can’t comment on the legitimacy of these rumors, they certainly aren’t outside the realm of possibility.  We’ll just have to see when more concrete info comes out. Arkham City comes out sometime in the fall of 2011.
