Bayonetta is part of a list of games that had moderate success and to this day still have fans clamoring for a sequel that at times can seem to be right on the horizon, and other times seem disgustingly out of reach (Mirror’s Edge 2, I am looking at you). As mentioned, Bayonetta is one of those games that has the occasional rumblings for a sequel and it looks to have a better shot at getting one with a recent rumor that has surfaced.

Platinum Games’ Hideki Kamiya has hinted at the possibility of the franchise returning solely on handheld platforms. No reason was given for the change in direction. The producer also mentioned that the game would sport over-the-top action that the original game was known for in addition to real-time strategy elements. An appearance by Dante from the Devil May Cry series is also desired as well.

As of now, there has been no confirmation of a Bayonetta follow-up.
