While everyone is busy playing Call of Duty: Warzone, Activision's internal studios are working on the next Call of Duty game coming later this year. Although it is uncertain if Treyarch will follow Infinity Ward’s footsteps with a Call of Duty: Black Ops reboot this year, a recent rumor with tons of details has recently surfaced indicating one might be on the way.

Revealed by YouTube channel TheGamingRevolution, the next mainline entry of the Call of Duty series is going to be Black Ops Reboot, which will use the new engine Modern Warfare was built upon. The story will take place during the same time as the original Black Ops, but the events will lean much closer to what happened in the real world during the Cold War. Additionally, the new Black Ops will deeply focus on the Vietnam War.

According to the source, the Call of Duty: Black Ops reboot is aimed to be more realistic than last year’s Modern Warfare with more intense scenes. Alex Mason and Frank Woods will make a return in the reboot, but with new voice actors.

Aside from the story details, the source also revealed some information on the reboot’s multiplayer features as well. Apparently, the reboot won't be getting its own battle royale. However, a similar Black Ops-themed mode will be added to Call of Duty: Warzone. Multiplayer maps in Call of Duty 2020 will be similar in design to Black Ops 4, however, the large-scale maps for more crowded battles will also be part of the game.

You can find out more about the details by checking out the video below, but we strongly suggest you take all the information with a grain of salt since nothing official has been revealed yet.

Until this supposed reboot gets officially announced, you can play Call of Duty: Modern Warfare right now for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
