Rumor: Overwatch May Be Getting Festive with Christmas Event, According to Data Mine

on November 25, 2016 8:56 AM

Since its release in May earlier this year, Overwatch has attracted tons of fans and celebrated the holidays of the year with its various seasonal events, with the next event appearing to be right in time for Christmas.

New evidence pointed toward the next Overwatch seasonal event being tied to Christmas/the holiday season, with the r/Overwatch subreddit (via Reddit user Venxa) having revealed a Christmas-themed music track from a data mine of the game’s latest update files.

No official confirmation has come yet from Blizzard Entertainment on the game’s next seasonal event, with the game’s first two events being the Summer Games in July and a Halloween event last month. Though it isn’t official just yet, a Christmas/holiday event wouldn’t exactly be a huge surprise, and there’s plenty of opportunity for fun character skins tied to the holidays.

Overwatch is available now for PS4, Xbox One, PC.
