The word from Dengeki PlayStation, an unofficial Japanese PlayStation magazine, is that the man with the chocobo-‘fro won’t appear in the retail release of Final Fantasy XIII-2. The official phrasing from Square-Enix is that “Final Fantasy XIII-2 will continue after release, so look forward to later” which sounds an awful lot like “oh, please: That’s DLC.”
Well, Square-Enix has said it wants to adopt some practices widely used by Western developers lately, and this move — if true — would echo that sentiment. From what we’ve heard, Sazh isn’t integral to the story in the new game, so this might not be the biggest deal. And who knows? It might even mean we get post-release content where the man with the twin gats is actually playable, unlike the cameo Wakka and Lulu had in Final Fantasy X-2. So what do you think? If Sazh is really DLC for XIII-2, is it cause for concern?
