While it was no secret that Rune from Human Head Studios would be hitting Steam Early Access on PC, we only a vague "2018" release window to go by until now. Today, the game's Steam Page went live and a new trailer for the game was released, with both revealing that Rune will enter Early Access during September.

While we are still without an exact date, the smaller window is appreciated and players can wishlist the game on Steam to be notified when it goes live. The Steam page also gives us more information about the title, including its minimum and recommended PC requirements and some more information about what its tenure in Early Access will look like.

Like most developers who use Early Access, Human Head opted to use it so they could get in-depth community feedback during development to create a game that both stands on its own and pays tribute to the original Rune. Rune will be in Early Access for "up to a year," but is already fairly fleshed out with operational PvE and PvP servers in addition to several items and quests already being available for players. Human Head Studios also does not plan on changing Rune's price once it exits Early Access.

Neither the minimum nor the recommended PC requirements for Rune are super hefty, so most players should not have trouble trying out the game on their PC. You can check out the requirements below:

MINIMUM:
    • OS: 64-bit Windows 7, Windows 8.1, & Windows 10
    • Processor: Intel Core i3-4340 / AMD FX-6300
    • Memory: 8 MB RAM
    • Graphics: nVidia GeForce 760 / AMD Radeon HD 7850
    • Network: Broadband Internet connection
    • Storage: 25 MB available space
RECOMMENDED:
    • OS: 64-bit Windows 7, Windows 8.1, & Windows 10
    • Processor: Intel Core i5-4590 / AMD A-10
    • Memory: 8 MB RAM
    • Graphics: nVidia GeForce GTX 970 / AMD Radeon RX 470
    • Network: Broadband Internet connection
    • Storage: 25 MB available space
