Fans of Rune Factory will be happy to hear that the latest title in the series, Rune Factory: Tides of Destiny, is set to drop in North America on October 11 for the Wii and Playstation 3.

As the first Rune Factory title released for the Sony Playstation console, Tides of Destiny combines fantasy and action elements of a classic RPG with a reward system of gameplay similar to Harvest Moon.  “We’re very excited that owners of both Nintendo and Sony consoles will be able to experience this thrilling new chapter in the Rune Factory saga,” says President and CEO of Natsume, Hiro Maekawa. “Players will explore exotic islands, meet unique new characters, and solve the mystery that has befallen our heroes!”

The game focuses on Aden and Sonja, two long-time friends whose peaceful life on Fenith Island is shattered when they fall under a mysterious curse that traps both their souls in the same body. What’s worse, the strange curse replaces their home island with a new one populated by strangers. Through exploring this new world and acquainting themselves with its unfamiliar inhabitants, the two must clear the shroud of mystery that surrounds the curse and save their home from destruction. Aden and Sonja are joined by divergent lot of new comrades who assist them in conquering a giant, crossing the seas, and discovering hidden dungeons overflowing with fortunes and fiends.

Rune Factory: Tides of Destiny, developed and published by Natsume Inc., will be available on October 11 and can be pre-ordered on the Natsume Online Store.
