Until now, it was unknown if the “rebootquelmagining” (Thanks, Jim Vejvoda!) of Hitman on film, Agent 47, would be moving forward in the wake of the death of Fast & Furious star Paul Walker. Fox has announced that Rupert Friend of Showtime’s Homeland will be stepping into the role of the protagonist, Agent 47.

Mr. Friend’s other credits include Pride & Prejudice, Mrs. Palfrey at the Claremont, Starred Up, and The Zero Theorem. His role on Homeland earned him his first Primetime Emmy Award nomination, along with a nomination by the Screen Actor’s Guild.

Agent 47 will be directed by Aleksander Bach and based off a script by Skip Woods and Michael Finch. Plot details are unknown and a release date has yet to be set.
