Rust - Console Edition

After years of waiting and anticipation, Rust was finally released on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on May 21st, 2021.

The PC and Console Editions live as two separate entities, with both receiving separate updates with different features. But one thing they both have in common is the monthly server wipe.

What Is The Server Wipe?

On the final Thursday of each month, the official Rust console servers will be wiped. Essentially, this means that players will lose all of their items, progression, and buildings.

There are multiple reasons for the developers wiping servers, mainly to stop groups of people becoming so looted that they ruin the experience of new players.

The first wipe for the Rust servers on the new Console Edition will take place today (June 24) and then occur at monthly intervals:

  • June 24th
  • July 29th
  • August 26th
  • September 30th

When the wipe happens, all of the official servers will be shut down for approximately 30 minutes. After this short downtime, the servers will come back online and everyone will start fresh with no items, weapons, or buildings.

What Time Is The Rust Server Wipe Today? (June 24)

According to the official Rust website, the server wipe for the Console Edition of Rust will occur at the following times:

  • 11AM PST
  • 2PM EST
  • 7PM BST

This will be the first server wipe for Rust Console Edition. At the aforementioned times, players will be able to play on fresh servers.
