The Rust Lunar New Year update is set to be deployed later today (January 28), with some brand new items for players to get their hands on.

Previous Lunar New Year events have seen new and old items come to the game, as well as special themed masks, craftable firecrackers, and plenty more. Fans expect plenty of the same in today’s new patch, so here’s everything you need to know about the January 28 Rust update.

Rust Lunar New Year Event Release Time

The official release date for the Rust Lunar New Year update is Friday, January 28th, 2022. A new patch will go live at 11AM PT / 2PM ET / 7PM GMT, once downloaded players will have access to the brand new update and items.

Rust PC Update Patch Notes (January 28)

As mentioned previously, today’s update will be deployed to enable the Lunar New Year items and skins for 2022. It’s likely that no detailed patch notes will be shared, but here’s what we know so far:

  • This Friday we’ll be releasing a mandatory update at 19:00 GMT / 14:00 EST to enable this year’s lunar new year’s items.
  • This week’s limited store skins will be released tomorrow alongside the Lunar new year update.
