Ryukishi07's Ciconia When They Cry Episode 1 is Getting an English Demo on September 4 (UPDATED)

Umineko Saku will also get a demo the same day containing Umineko Episode 1 Legend of the Golden Witch but running on the new engine.

07th Expansion announced on Twitter a demo for Ciconia When They Cry Episode 1 will be published on September 4 at 18:00 JST. Click here for time conversions. The demo will let us play the beginning of the game.

The demo will be published on 07th Expansion’s official site. More information on Ciconia‘s characters will also be revealed on September 4.

The tweet also mentioned Umineko Saku will also get a demo at the same time. The demo will be all of Umineko no Naku Koro ni – Episode 1: Legend of the Golden Witch, but running on the new engine 07th Expansion made for Umineko Saku.

Both Ciconia When They Cry Episode 1 and Umineko Saku launch on PC in Japan on October 4. Ciconia is getting an English version released simultaneously, published by MangaGamer and translated by The Witch Hunt. It’s unclear if we’ll get an English version of the demo.

07th Expansion is currently working on another game, Gensou Rougoku no Kaleidoscope, scheduled to launch on November 28 in Japan. You can read more about the game here and here.

Ciconia and Gerokasu are among the games I’m looking forward to the most at the end of this year so I’m quite happy about the demo. I’m really hyped about it.

Update: The Witch Hunt, the group which has been traditionally translating When They Cry games, opened up an official Twitter account on September 3. They announced an English version of the Ciconia demo will be available at the same time as the Japanese demo.
