Saints Row 2 turns ten years old this year and it seems as a way of celebrating, Microsoft has now made the game more accessible to those who may want to revisit it.

It was announced today that THQ and Volition's open world action title Saints Row 2 is now available to play on Xbox One via Xbox 360 backward compatibility. Yes, just like all other games that become a part of this collection, you can now drop your old disc for Saints Row 2 into your Xbox One and play it just like any other game.

As a franchise, Saints Row has been quiet in recent years with the last game in the series, Saints Row IV, releasing in 2013. Last year's release of Agents of Mayhem, a spiritual successor of sorts, has been the most recent thing we've seen similar to this series since that time. But after Agents of Mayhem's disappointing response from critics to go along with poor sales, it wouldn't be a surprise to see THQ Nordic soon return to the Saints Row IP in the near future.

In the meantime, feel free to now revisit Saints Row 2 on your Xbox One now if you've been itching for more of that franchise. If you don't already own the physical disc, you should be able to purchase it digitally on the Xbox Marketplace for a mere $9.99.
