Saints Row: Gat Out of Hell Gets New Musical Story Trailer

Saints Row: Gat Out of Hell, the standalone expansion to Saints Row IV, has received a new trailer today that kicks things up a notch with a musical performance.

The new trailer was shown to me back at PAX Prime 2014 with the request to not film or release any footage of it, and has been released through IGN today. It’s a hilarious bit that sees Satan taking the cliche overbearing and protective father role seen in many children’s movies, almost acting like a parody of King Triton in the Little Mermaid. There is even a duet where Johnny Gat and Kinzie trade verses, continuing the ridiculous tone the series has adopted in its dialogue.

“Tonally this game is based on Disney stuff, it pulls a lot of inspiration from that,” said Steve Jaros, former creative director at Volition, to me during my visit to PAX Prime. “So you kind of have these little tropes and along the way we bring in other old faces and historical people that we try to tie together in a fun little package.”

Look forward to more fun with Disney troupes when Saints Row: Gat Out of Hell releases on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC on January 20, 2015.
