With Grand Theft Auto V having sold over 100 million copies, it's no wonder the game's cartoon cousin is reemerging on Nintendo's handheld hybrid. Saint's Row: The Third will be making its way to the Nintendo Switch in March.

No new footage of the game was shown, which is notable seeing how hard it is to imagine killing helpless civilians on the Switch.

The game is being ported by studio Deep Silver FISHLABS, a subsidiary of the company that originally published the game back in November of 2011. Though there are new entries in the Saint's Row franchise, Saint's Row: The Third is heralded by many as the best entry in the series. DualShockers reviewed the game and gave it a 9.5 at the time.

It was likely chosen over newer entries in the series as it is more coherent as a standalone title, and less graphically intensive than newer entries. Saint's Row IV, after all, revolves around being a super-powered president of the United States fighting off an alien invasion. Perhaps a local turf war seemed like a better entry point for players who have never tried the series before, or who did not play it over the better part of the last decade. This trend to release past generation games on the Switch can also be seen with titles such as Monster Hunter Generations and L.A. Noire.

Saint's Row: The Third will be coming to the Nintendo Switch in March of next year.
