Saints Row V Story and Gameplay Details Possibly Leaked [Update: Denied by Deep Silver]
Saints Row V might be a sequel to The Third, where every event in Saints Row IV has been retconned as an in-game TV show.
Update: The PR manager from Deep Silver officially denied the leaks around Saints Row V on 4Chan. Here’s the tweet:
Sorry to be that guy, but this info is not correct. I definitely can't wait to share what's next for Saints, but this isn't it. https://t.co/UwifomaBvw

Some new details around Volition’s Saints Row V have recently been leaked on 4Chan, revealing more information on the next entry’s story-line and new gameplay mechanics.
First of all, we strongly suggest you take this leak with a massive grain of salt as the source hasn’t always been a trustworthy one. However, the leak has some interesting details that you might like to hear about.
As you may know, Saints Row V has already been confirmed by the publisher and developers behind the game, targeting a launch window around late 2021 or early 2022. In a recent earnings call by Embracer Group, the company behind Deep Silver and its studios including Volition, they officially confirmed that they will be delivering two AAA titles in the fiscal year that starts in April 2021 and ends in March 2022. Those games are highly assumed to be Dead Island 2 and Saints Row V.
According to the latest leak on 4Chan, the developers have decided to conclude all the events of Saints Row IV and its story expansion as an in-universe TV show, meaning the new entry will be a sequel to Saints Row The Third, but with all-new cast and characters that are set to fight against the old Saints.
Based on the source, the game will allow players to make decisions at some points in the story. For example, you can choose which gang you want to team up with to stand against the old Saints and some other rival gangs. The protagonist and his/her crew will try to create an evil gang in Stilwater city, which is a modern version of OG city from Saints Row 1 and 2.
There will be no superpower abilities in the game similar to Saints Row IV. Character customization will be much like that of Saints Row 2. You can wear each piece of clothes in multiple ways. The game is set to feature 4-player co-op mode for story-missions along with a 32-player PvP open-world multiplayer mode where different gangs will fight against each other to dominate more regions of the city.
The physics of the game will reportedly be improved, but don’t expect fully destructible objects or buildings in Saints Row V. The handling of the cars is also said to be similar to that of Grand Theft Auto V.
Last but not least, the leak suggests that graphics in Saints Row V will be better than what Volition delivered with Saints Row The Third Remastered.
