Yesterday, publisher Deep Silver and Saints Row developer Volition (the daughter company of Deep Silver) announced that the iconic Johnny Gat of Saints Row fame will appear in Agents of Mayhem: but only as a pre-order bonus.
That’s right, Johnny Gat is set to be the 13th Agent of Mayhem, and will be exclusively available to not only pre-ordering, but pre-ordering at GaemStop. By pre-ordering, not only do you unlock Johnny Gat, but you’ll get an exclusive mission, a personal mission, vehicle/character/weapon skins, and of course the unmistakable voice of Daniel Dae Kim as Gat.
According to Volition, the ending of Saints Row: Gat out of Hell means that the dead don’t stay dead. Johnny is back where he was born — where the game takes place — Seoul, South Korea, where he is a Lieutenant in Seoul’s police department. However, the tragic events of Devil’s Night left Johnny in a coma, and after awakening almost a year later, Johnny discovers all of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency have been wiped out and replaced with C.O.P (Civilian Overwatch Patrol) robot units. Johnny hates robots, but he loves guns and destruction: making him the perfect fit for MAYHEM.
But the pre-order bonuses don’t stop there. If you pre-order any digital copy of the game you will also receive a new Agent, Lazarus, “half woman, half machine.” The following description of the character is provided:
Lazarus, is a merging of woman and machine; the top rung of the evolutionary ladder. As an agent of MAYHEM, she encounters an endless stream of competitors ready to challenge her for that distinction. While she’s evolved beyond her own humanity, she still has a great love and respect for humankind as a whole. MAYHEM allows her to watch over those quirky human beings whose flaws and peculiarities continue to fascinate her to this day.
In addition to the two above-mentioned pre-order bonus exclusives, don’t forget about the previously announced Legal Action Pending DLC, which grants you day one access to six cosplay skins for the agents if you purchase the game before it releases.
For those that don’t know: Agents of Mayhem is a single-player, open-world, third-person action game for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC .Equipped with Volition’s signature humor, you run a no-holds barred operation against the shadowy super-villain organization, Legion, fighting to take back the world after the events of Devil’s Night.
The game takes place in the futuristic city of Seoul where you can play as one of three interchangeable agents, and is set to release August 15th in North America and on August 19th in Europe for $59.99 USD.
