Courtesy of IGNCourtesy of IGN, we got a new look at the upcoming Samurai Jack game from Soleil. Samurai Jack creator Genndy Tartakovsky joined IGN to talk a little about Battle Through Time, the latest game based on his seminal animated series. The interview touched on a few interesting nuggets of information and, of course, let us see Jack in action. Give the full thing a look below.

As you can see, even though it's been 16 years since the last Jack game, BTT retains that classic look animated look. The combat looks action-heavy and we see some flashy moves that use the environment to gain an advantage. One of the more interesting aspects of the interview was Tartakovsky was how involved he was able to be in the process of Battle Through Time.

Previous games came out while he was working on the animated series, which meant his input was pretty minimal. Now that the series has wrapped, he's able to take a much more involved role. Also, all of the living original cast members recorded dialogue for all your favorite Samurai Jack characters. A nice touch for fans of the series.

Obviously, we won't know the game's quality for sure until we get hands-on with the title. That said, from the diverse environments to the multitudes of fun-looking ways to fight enemies to the intriguing story, this looks like it has quite a bit of potential.

We'll know for sure when the game launches later this year. We don't yet have a firm release date. However, the original announce trailer had the game down for a summer 2020 release on Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, and Xbox One. So technically, Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time could be out any day now.
