A small game developer called Artifice Studio are making an interesting new IP called Sang Froid: Tales of Werewolves. The game combines elements of tower defense with third person action, pitting players against aggressive beasts of the night.
It is the winter of 1858 in Lower Canada, a place where werewolves and other beasts are commonplace. Players take control of one of two brothers who need to protect their sister from the evil clutches of the Devil himself. In order to do this, players must be strategic, concocting clever strategies and placing cunning traps to prevent the beasts from getting too close.
The video below shows over ten minutes of footage from the game where one of the game’s designers, Adam, demonstrates some of the core features of Sang Froid. It is an intriguing game from a young indie studio who are working in collaboration with author Bryan Perro (Amos Darragon and Wariwulf), who is writing the game’s story.
The game’s website says that Sang Froid is ‘Coming Summer 2012’ but that may no longer be the case, as summer is soon to end. However, in the video, Adam mentions that Sang Froid will be appearing on Steam Greenlight, which is scheduled to launch at the end of August. Keep a look out for more news on this title in the near future.
