Last fall, developer Simogo, and publisher Annapurna Interactive partnered to put out the excellent Sayonara Wild Hearts. The rhythm-action game was a hit critically, picking up several end-of-the-year awards. The soundtrack and visual design are phenomenal, combining to make one of the must-play games of 2019. And now, we could very well be seeing many more games like it. Simogo announced today that, going forward, their projects will now all be published by Annapurna Interactive.

After how incredibly successful the partnership was with Sayonara Wild Hearts, this is an agreement that definitely makes sense. Annapurna has quickly become one of the premier indie publishers in the industry and the games Simogo makes fit well within their game catalog. With games like What Remains of Edith Finch, Florence, Outer Wilds, and Wattam in their portfolio, Annapurna has exploded onto the indie scene over the last three years. It's kind of incredible how great their track record has been since they got into video games.

So, as Simogo says in their release, this opens them up to "more possibilities, and less compromises". If you're looking for a top-of-the-line indie publisher, it's hard to go wrong with Annapurna Interactive. Truly this feels like a marriage made in heaven. Merging the creative story-telling that Simogo brings to the table with the resources and the know-how that Annapurna Interactive has built up over the years should result in many more excellent games in the next few years.

For now, Simogo and Annapurna Interactive don't quite yet have a new game to announce. However, at the tail end of their press release, Simogo did tease their next game. Project Fuzzy Optics is next on the docket and, while we don't know much about it, I can't wait to see what this partnership brings us next.
