The Game Awards began the show with a super stylish music game and the first world premiere for a Nintendo Switch title by the name of Sayonara Wild Hearts.

Described as a "pop album video game" the trailer, which you can view below, features several different teams of characters, each with their own music and name such as Dancing Devils, Howling Moons, Stereo Lovers, Hermit64, Little Death, and The Fool. Gameplay looks like a mix between endless runner and action-rhythm game.

The next game from Simogo, a development studio best known SPL-T, The Sailor’s Dream, and DEVICE 6. Publishing Sayonara Wild Hearts is Annapurna Interactive, also known for What Remains of Edith Finch, Gorogoa, Florence, and Donut County. Jenova Chen, best known for Flow, Flower, and Journey on the PlayStation 3, serves as the company's adviser as they seek games that are, "personal, emotional, and original."

Sayonara Wild Hearts will release on Nintendo Switch sometime in 2019, you can see the game in-action thanks to a trailer from GameTrailers below.
