Scavengers, the upcoming online survival game from Midwinter Entertainment, revealed a first look at the title's gameplay at E3 Live today. The game was announced via a teaser at the 2018 version of The Game Awards and looks like an interesting take on the survival genre. Give that first trailer a look below.

Josh Holmes, the CEO and Co-Founder of Midwinter, joined Geoff Keighley on stage to discuss the game. He describes the game at competitive multiplayer meets cooperative gameplay. You'll join a small team of scavengers working toward a goal with a number of other teams. However, each team still wants to own the top spot on the game's leaderboard. So, each time you find another team, you'll need to decide if you want to destroy them and improve your team's standing or work with them to accomplish the overall objective.

Mixing things up is the game's living world. Not only will you have alternatively work with and against other teams, but you'll also need to navigate a landscape that very much wants you dead. Weather can change on a dime and force you into truly harrowing circumstances. There are also dangerous wildlife and infected monsters that might wander into your team's path. Not to mention the hostile outlanders that are looking to add your head to their kill count. Basically, the game wants you to die and will do everything it can to make that happen.

The team is hoping to release Scavengers next year on PC and consoles. PC is the lead platform and players can start signing up now to have a chance to join the closed beta. They will announce which consoles the game is coming to as we near release. Keep your browser on Dualshockers for more E3 news.
