Unless you’re a fan of anime, you probably tend to not even notice games that are based on anime television series (which are themselves usually based on manga, but we won’t even go there). One has had me quite interested, although there’s been little actual news about it. One of my favorite anime shows of the last few years has been The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, and its various spin-offs. Namco Bandai is bringing Haruhi and her oddball friends to life on the PS3 and PSP starting this spring in Japan.

I don’t have game play details, but I do have screens, which you can hit up after the break. It’s likely this will be a very “visual novel”-heavy title, and I’m not quite sure we’ll ever see it outside of Japan. Frankly, I’d rather Namco bring their Tales games over to Western regions before this, but, you know, if they do decide to localize it, I wouldn’t object. The screens below are from the PS3 version of the game, called The Reminiscence of Haruhi Suzumiya.
