Sea of Thieves Servers Down

As mentioned previously, a new Sea of Thieves update is set to be deployed today.

The game's servers will be taken down at 2AM PT / 5AM ET / 10AM BST in order to deploy a new hotfix update. The developers didn't detail how long the servers would be down for, but based on previous updates it will likely last for around an hour.

Following the server downtime, players will be prompted to download and install a small patch before they can play again.

Sea of Thieves Hotfix Update & Patch Notes

As of writing, no detailed patch notes for the September 29 Sea of Thieves update have been shared. However, the official Sea of Thieves Twitter account did inform players that today's update is simply a hotfix to fix a few issues.

If any patch notes are shared, we will update this article. But as of right now the only thing we know about the latest update is that it is "to apply a hotfix that resolves some outstanding issues", according to the developers.

They also stated that players should "plan your Voyages accordingly as there’ll be a download to install before you set sail again!".

So it looks like players will be required to download a small patch before they can jump back into Sea of Thieves. If any further details emerge regarding today's update, we'll be sure to let you know.
