Rare's Sea of Thieves is getting its third free content update with Forsaken Shores. All players with access to Sea of Thieves will get the chance to try out the update later this month on September 19. You can check out the new teaser trailer down below.

The new content update will open up a new region of the map to players, known as The Devil's Roar. It's a very dangerous volcanic region that'll give players tons of new opportunities in the game. If you watch the trailer, you'll get a firsthand look at just how dangerous The Devil's Roar will be.

Back during E3, Sea of Thieves received a trailer showcasing what would be its next two content updates. The first arrived in July with Cursed Sails, and the second was Forsaken Shores. Back in March, the game saw a strong launch with over two million players, and that wasn't even including Xbox Game Pass downloads. You can check out our review of the vanilla version of Sea of Thieves if you haven't already picked it up for yourself.

Sea of Thieves is available exclusively on Xbox One and PC. The game is essentially an open world pirate simulator for you and your friends. If you'd like to give the game a try yourself, it's available on Amazon right now to purchase.
