Today Rare released a brand new gameplay video of Sea of Thieves from the technical alpha of the upcoming shared world adventure game.

The video moves away from the usual developer diary format, and shows raw gameplay, with four developers goofing around on their ship, trying to “gift” a treasure chest to a crew of players during the technical alpha.

Of course, things don’t go exactly as predicted, but that’s half of the fun.

We get to see cruising, treasure hunting, combat, and event a few glimpse at the ghost ship that serves as the game’s original “death penalty.”

Sea of Thieves
will release some time this year for Xbox One and Windows 10.
