Seattle Seahawks' Marshawn Lynch to Play Role in Call of Duty: Black Ops III

With Call of Duty having grown and grown each year to include the likenesses of some well-known faces and voice talent such as Kevin Spacey and Gary Oldman, the series’ upcoming new installment Call of Duty: Black Ops III is set to make a first for the series by including the likeness of its first-ever major athlete.

Coming from the first ever “eSports Issue” of ESPN The Magazine, NFL star and Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch was announced to be featured as a character in Call of Duty: Black Ops III, with Lynch set to play the role of a mercenary in the game.

As the first professional athlete to be featured in a Call of Duty title, Activision CEO Eric Hirshberg detailed the news of Lynch’s involvement in the title:

“Marshawn Lynch is the perfect match for Call of Duty. I mean, he’s a guy who fills stadiums, crushes competitors, and has a Beast Mode. What could be more CoD than that?”

Call of Duty: Black Ops III will release for PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360, and PC on November 6th, 2015.
