Second Life has been around for quite some time now, quietly establishing a whole ecosystem around its interactive world and gathering of players all across the globe. With the game now celebrating its 10th birthday, developer Linden Lab is marking the occasion with a slew of updates to the game that will hopefully give it, well, a "second life."

Second Life's updates will include a major visual overhaul of the game's graphics, lighting, and loading of textures and assets during gameplay, revised in-game chat and communication, easier in-game shopping, and probably most-promising of all, support for VR devices like the Oculus Rift coming in the near future.
