Second Life Developer Acquires Desura

Today, Linden Lab, most famous for being the developer’s of Second Life , announced they have acquired Desura. Desura is a digital distribution service used by both indie developers and larger companies.

Rob Humble, Linden Lab’s CEO,  commented on the acquisition.

Desura’s talented team, thriving business and impressive technology are a great fit for Linden Lab.

This is the second acquisition of the year for Linden Lab as they previously acquired Blocksworld, a iPad brick-building game. With these new developments it looks like Linden Lab is looking to make a much larger splash in the gaming industry then with the controversial Second Life.
