Today, developer Funcom announced that it has officially launched its shared-world RPG reimagining to the MMO The Secret World. Today marks the launch of Secret World Legends. An official launch trailer has been provided to commemorate the occasion.

Available now as a free-to-play title, Secret World Legends features over 100 hours of story-driven gameplay that can be played solo, with friends, or even with strangers in its new online world. It tells a dark and mature tale about the supernatural underworld that exists within our reality, a place where myth and legend are more than just stories. They are the shadows of our realm that now threaten to destroy the world.

So, what’s new in Secret World Legends? Well, besides having a whole slew of new story content, Secret World Legends features a stronger progression system, improved visuals, a targeting system that requires the use of a reticle, and more. According to Funcom’s Executive Producer Scott Junior, this title not only improves upon The Secret World, it also is unlike any other title on the market.

“From the ambitious scale of its storytelling to the quality of quest design and voice acting, Secret World Legends delivers an experience unlike any other you can find in gaming.”

Secret World Legends is currently available for download on the game’s official website, but if you’re so inclined to wait until its Steam release, that will be on July 31.

Last week, an ARG experience was released, allowing players to unlock an exclusive set of weapons in Secret World Legends.
