The Secret World has recently seen a bit of a revival with the recent release of Secret World Legends. Today, Funcom announced that the franchise will be branching out further with The Secret World television series centered on the conspiracy-ridden universe.

With a partnership between Johnny Depp’s Infinitum Nihil and G4C Innovations’ Gudrun Giddings, along with Jake Hart, Christi Dembrowski, and Sam Sarkar, The Secret World television series will draw material from both the MMO title The Secret World, as well as the most recent shared-world RPG Secret World Legends. According to Funcom, the pilot episode has been written by James V. Hart (Hook, Dracula, and Contact) in collaboration with Jake Hart. The showrunner is Pam Veasey.

The Secret World television series will tell the story of a team of undercover agents and the war they must manage between the Illuminati, Dragon, and Templar. Apparently, the story will span our world, as well as multiple dimensions and the realms of myth and legend.

At this time, no further details have been provided regarding when the series will release or what channel/platform it will call home.

Back in July, Secret World Legends launched and found some early success. Since that time, Funcom has outlined exactly what players can expect to see from future updates to the game.
