Section 8: Prejudice is Coming Early 2011, Will Be Downloadable Only

Some of you may have played TimeGate’s sci-fi shooter, Section 8, and found it to be surprisingly fun. While the game never interested me with its generic art style, there’s apparently a consistent cult following for the game, even to this day.  So it’s no surprise then that TimeGate is releasing a sequel for the game, titled Section 8: Prejudice.

What is surprising, is that it’ll be downloadable only on Xbox Live, PSN, and the PC, and instead of being the standard retail price, it’ll be sold for a very manageable $14.99, or 1200 Microsoft Points.

Prejudice will feature a five-hour single player campaign, along with multiplayer for up to 32 players and a 4-player co-op mode called Swarm.

This is some smart marketing on TimeGate’s part, as now I want to actually check out the original Section 8 to see if it really is sequelworthy.  Section 8: Prejudice hits the 360, PS3, and PC in early 2011; check out the official site for more info.

His focus is on indie games specifically, valuing gameplay and ingenuity over sparkly visuals and ridiculous gimmicks. When he's not geeking out over the newest art game, he's out toning his sexy, sculpted shoulders while surfing epic 1.5ft waves, or having a good time with local, high-gravity microbrews.
